It’s just like the old phrase isn’t it – “you wait ages for one, and then two come along at the same time!!” but we’re not talking about buses, no, this is the crucial issue of triple black trainers!
Ever considering that that Wave Runner emerged back in 2017, sneakerheads have been obsessing (fantasying might be the better word) over the possibility of an all-black colourway. The idea of such of a stealthy 700 seemed like wishful thinking back in those early days. After all, Kanye West had famously unveiled this controversial silhouette in an outrageous colour scheme. could something far a lot more understated even live up to the OG?
Thankfully, Ye did listen to all his millions of followers and just as expected, the black Yeezy 700s are just as good as you could have imagined. but therein lies a problem, there’s not just one to focus on but two styles to deliberate over. a lot of of us can’t justify a collective £500 sneaker purchase in one month, so what’ll be; the Yeezy improve 700 V2 Vanta or utility Black?!
The Yeezy 700 V2 Vanta is the first to go live, launching this Thursday by means of adidas UK. For all the impatient sneakerheads reading this, that could be the answer you needed. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until June 29th for the arrival of the utility Black.
Stock numbers are another consideration, something that might not be a worry depending on your affinity for rare sneakers. Interestingly, it would seem that both pairs are nearly identical in terms of stock levels. The Vanta, however, has already sold-out during an early launch across European stockists. It was covered earlier in the week by means of @thesolerestocks.
A better question to ask might be how these are perceived by the broader Yeezy fan base. Thankfully, there’s some insight supplied by one of our recent Twitter polls.
? Battle of the Yeezy 700 Blacks…which pair is better?
— The Sole Restocks (@thesolerestocks) may 29, 2019
When asked which colourway was better, a lot more than 59% voted for the Yeezy 700 V2 Vanta, leaving the ”Utility Black’ trailing behind at 41% of the votes. That said, opinion is nearly divided on this one.
Aesthetically, there are major differences between the two. It’s the tech-wear inspired uppers of the V2 that might just edge it for some. but then again, the ‘Utility Black’ does sit on a gum outsole. It’s a subtle contrast but one that has no doubt been the cause of many fire emojis across your Instagram feed.
Choosing between these Yeezy 700s isn’t the only decision you’ll be making this month. a lot more unmissable heat is on the way, including a stealthy ‘SPLY-350’.
